[ῑ] συκᾶς, TH. C.P. 2, 9, 5 ; H.P. 2, 8, 3, hâter la pollinisation des figues, en attirant des blastophages (insectes hyménoptères) au moyen de figues sauvages mâles qu’on place auprès d’elles.

Étym. ἐρινός.

aor.1 inf. ἐρινάξαι and ἐρινάσαι, Hsch. : — hang fruiting branches of the wild fig (< ἐρινεός) near the cultivated fig (< συκῆ) in order that the gall-insect (< ψήν) which lives in the wild fruit may carry pollen to the σῦκον, Thphr. CP 2.9.5; — Pass., τὸ ἐρινασμένον the fig subjected to caprification, Id. HP 2.8.3.

[ῑ], συκᾶς, die Frucht des wilden Feigenbaumes über die zahmen Feigen hängen, damit aus den ersteren die Insekten auf die letzteren kriechen, diese durchbohren u. dadurch ihre Reife befördern, caprificare, Theophr., Hesych.; ἐριναστός, durch dies Verfahren gereift, Theophr.
