causing no fear, free from fear, A. Pr. 902; λόγος οὐκ ἄ. εἰπεῖν Pl. Lg. 797a. ἄ. θῆρες, in S. Aj. 366, is an oxymoron, beasts which fear not men or which no one fears, tame beasts, cattle.
