      1 qu’on n’a pas encore mis sur le feu : τρίποδες ἄ. IL. 9, 122 ; λέϐης ἄ. IL. 23, 267, trépieds, chaudron qui n’ont pas encore vu le feu, càd. neufs ;
      2 non préparé ou non travaillé avec du feu : ἄ. σιτία, PLUT. M. 349 a, aliments crus ; οἶνος ἄ. ALCM. (ATH. 31 c) vin non chauffé ; χρυσίον ἄ. HDT. 3, 97, or natif ; ἄ. ἄρδις, ESCHL.    1) bei Hom. ἀπύρους τρίποδας Il. 8.122, 264, λέβητ' ἄπυρον, ἀνθεμόεντα 23.885 ; ἄπυρον λέβητα, λευκὸν ἔτ' αὔτως 23.267 : entweder die noch nicht ins Feuer gekommen, noch nicht gebraucht sind, oder die gar nicht zum Gebrauch im Feuer bestimmt sind ; letztere Erklärung ist die des Aristarch, Scholl. Aristonic. Il. 23.267 σημειοῦνταί τινες ὅτι ἄπυρον τὸν ἀναθηματικόν, ἕτερον τοῦ ἐμπυριβήτου ; vgl. Scholl. Il. 23.885, 9.122, 265, Apoll. Lex. Hom. 40.32 Athen. ΙΙ. 38a, ΧΙ, 501b ; ἄπυρος πινακίσκος B.A. 1.14, μήπω πυρὶ προσενηνεγμένος erkl.; ἄπυρα σκεύη Plat. Legg. III.679a, von Hesych. erkl. τὰ οὐ παρέχοντα χρῆσιν ἐν πυρί ; – Soph.    2) ἱερά, Opfer, bei denen nichts verbrannt wird, Pind. Ol. 7.48 ; θυσία Eur.; bei Clem.Al. ἄπυροι die Furien, denen kein Brandopfer gebracht wurde. Bei Aesch. Ag. 70 aber sind ἱερὰ ἄπυρα nicht gehörig dargebrachte, frevelhafte Opfer, wie auch Soph. bei Hesych. ἄπυρον für ἄθυτον braucht.
   3) ungekocht, οἶνος Alcm. bei Ath. I.31c ; μέλι Luc. Navig. 23 ; σιτία Plut.; ἄκολοι Leon.Tar. 45 (IX.563); τροφή Suid. Häufig χρυσός, roh, im Ggstz von ἄπεφθος, Her. 3.97 ; Arist. Mir. Ausc. 45 ; DS. 2.5 ; Antiphil. 21 (IX.310). Ebenso θεῖον ἄπυρον, Diosc.; Plin. 35.15.
   4) bei den Aerzten, ohne Fieberhitze.

B) ἄρδις ἄπυρος, Aesch. Prom. 882, feuergleich, wie Feuer brennend, Schol. πολύπυρος, also mit dem α copulativ. gebildet ; Andere erkl. vielleicht richtiger : nicht im Feuer gewesen, nicht geschmiedet, da ἄρδις hier uneigentlich gesagt ist.
