ΐδος, ἡ, bes. poet. fem. zu χλωρός, = χλωρά ; bei Hom. Beiwort der Nachtigall, χλωρηῒς ἀηδών Od. 19.518, von der Farbe, falb, fahl, vgl. χλωραύχην, nach Andern aber die im Grünen, im Laube od. Gebüsche sich aufhaltende, ἡ ἐν χλωροῖς διατρίβουσα. Es ist nicht nötig, die erstere Erkl. aufzugeben, weil die Farbe nicht genau auf unsere Nachtigall paßt, da Hom. leicht eine andere Art beschreiben konnte. S. auch χλωρός.
