Die Gramm. führen auch das act. σκύζω an, und leiten das Wort von κύων ab, wie κνυζάομαι ; Hesych. ἡσυχῇ ὑποφθέγγεσθαι ὥσπερ κύνες, eigtl. knurren wie ein Hund ; nach Schol.
