προ·ερύω (f. épq. -ερύσσω, IL. 9, 358, ao. épq. -έρυσσα, IL. 1, 308) tirer en avant (du rivage à la mer ou invers. un navire).

Ep. aor. -έρυσσα (v. infr.), draw on or forward, in Hom. always of ships, νῆα θοὴν ἅλαδε προέρυσσεν drew the swift ship forward, by hauling her from the beach to the sea, Il. 1.308; ἐπὴν ἅλαδε προερύσσω (sc. νῆας) 9.358.
move the ship forward, by rowing her towards the shore, αὐτὰς δ’ ἐσσυμένως προερύσσαμεν ἤπειρόνδε Od. 9.73; τὴν δ’ εἰς ὅρμον προέρυσσαν ἐρετμοῖς Il. 1.435, Od. 15.497 (but προερεσσ- was rightly written by Aristarch. and others).

(ἐρύω), vorziehen, fortziehen ; νῆα θοὴν ἅλαδε προέρυσσεν, Il. 1.308 u. öfter, das Schiff vom Gestade herab in die See ziehen ; aber statt τὴν δ' εἰς ὅρμον προέρυσσαν ἐρετμοῖς Il. 1.435 ist von Bekker u. Spitzner mit Recht προέρεσσαν aufgenommen, wie auch Od. 9.73 προερέσσαμεν bei Bekker steht.
