1 serrer, presser, tenir fermement : ταῦρον ὁπλᾶς, THCR. Idyl. 4, 35, tenir solidement, un taureau par le sabot ;
2 saisir : τινὰ τῆς χειρός, NT. Ap. 3, 7, qqn par la main, d’où prendre, faire prisonnier, acc. SPT. Sir. 23, 21.
