3 pl. impf. Pass., hobbled along beneath, in the phrase γούνατα δ’ ἐρρώσαντο, πόδες δ’ ὑπερικταίνοντο Od. 23.3; according to Aristarch. it meant ἄγαν ἐπάλλοντο, and other ancient critics gave other explanations, v. EM 779.9; a reading ὑποακταίνοντο (= ἔτρεμον) is mentioned in Hsch. ; cf. ἀκταίνω.
