ἄ·σπονδος, ος, ον :
      1 sans libations : ἀνοκωχὴ ἄ. THC. 5, 32, suspension d’armes, qui n’est pas une véritable trêve (laquelle était toujours sanctionnée par des libations) ; ἀσπόνδους τοὺς νεκροὺς ἀνελέσθαι, THC. 2, 22, enlever ses morts sans avoir demandé de trêve ; τὸ ἄσπονδον, THC. 1, 37, neutralité, litt. absence de traité ou de convention ;
      2 qui n’admet pas de trêve, implacable, ESCHL. Ag. 1235 ; DÉM. 314, 16 ; POL. 1, 65 ; etc.

ον, without σπονδή or drink-offering; hence, of a god, to whom no drink-offering is poured, ἄ. θεός, i.e. death, E. Alc. 424.
