Étym. χρῶμα.

ή, όν, of, relating to colour; — but only found, metaph, in Rhet., offering a colourable pretext (χρῶμα IV. 4), τὸ χ., as name of a form of rebuttal, Aps. p. 273H. (v.l. χρωμάτιον). in Music, chromatic (cf. χρῶμα IV. 3), μελῳδία D.H. Comp. 19; μέλος, opp. διάτονον, ἐναρμόνιον, Alciphr. 1.18, cf. Aristox (?). Oxy. 667.1; τὸ κὸν [γένος] the chromatic genus, Plu. 2.744c, cf. Phld. Mus. p. 63K., Ph. 1.321.
