   a) ein Maulkorb, den man bißigen Tieren anlegt, od. solchen, die Nichts abfressen, nicht mehr saugen sollen (vgl. κημός, πύσσαχος); φιμὰ περὶ στόματα Anyte 1 (VI.312); φιμὸν περιθεῖναί τινι Luc. vit.auct. 22.
   b) ein Stück am Pferdezaume, das über die Nase geht u. diese einklemmt ; Aesch. Spt. 445 ; πώλους φιμοῖσιν αὐλωτοῖσιν ἐστομωμένας frg. 341.
   c) eine Art Becher, in welchem die Würfel geschüttelt und aus dem sie herausgeworfen werden, κυβευτικὸν ὄργανον, Aesch. 1.59.
   d) auch = φίμωσις.
