Ep. 97; — certain philosophers are called φιλαλήθεις by D.L. 1.17, who seems to intend the Epicureans; also applied to the physician Alexander of Laodicea, Anon. Lond. 24.32 (where φιλαλήθειος), Sor. 2.2, etc. Adv. -θως Phld. Piet. 123, D.S. 2 32, Gal. 19.348; frankly, Cic. QF 2.15 (16).5.
