[τυμπ- is read against the metre in E. l.c., A. l.c. codd. Str., Diog. l.c. codd. Ath.] = τύμπανον II, ὁ ἀπὸ τοῦ τ. nickname of one Lysimachus who at the last moment escaped execution, Arist. l.c. ; ἄξιοί εἰσι τυχεῖν πάντες ἑνὸς τ. AP 11.160 (Lucill.); τύπανα is metrically possible in Ar. Pl. 476, and is required there by the alphabetical order in Suid., as is τύπανον in Hsch. = crusta, Gloss. name of a street, BGU 9 i 7 (iii AD).
