obscure word found only in Alc. 38; cited by Heph. 11.3, who attests its metrical form (--), and by Choerob. in Theod. 1.262 H., al., who says it is an Aeol. voc., proparox., and means εἶδος ἀκάνθης ; the quantity is against Bergk΄s derivation from Τριβολολετηρ ΄caltrop-devourer΄. [τριβωλ- codd. Heph., τριβολ, τρεβολ-, and τριβαλ- codd. Choerob.]
