τό, an insect like a τέττιξ, Epil. 4 (where τιττιγόνιον cod. Phot., the alphabetical order requiring τιτιγόνιον· τρυγονίῳ codd. ACAth., cf. ζῷον ὅμοιον τέττιγι καὶ τριγονίῳ Eust. 1282.40), prob. cj. in Arist. HA 556a20 (where τεττιγόνια, with v.l. τριγόνια, cf. τιγόνιον· εἶδός τι Ἀριστοτέλει, Hsch., τιγόνιον· ἐπὶ νηπίου τίθεται, Phot.); the word is correctly written in EM 760.47, Paus.Gr. Fr. 87 (ap. Eust. 396.2, where it is rightly connected with τιτίζω ; it is prob. Dim. of Τιτιγών (τιτιγών ; τιτίζω, = ὀλολυγών ; ὀλολύζω, = τρυγών ; τρύζω)).
