Étym. σιτέω.

εως, ἡ, eating, feeding, ἐπὶ σιτήσι for home consumption, opp. πρῆσις, Hdt. 4.17; σ. καὶ δίαιτα Pl. R. 404d; σ. ἐν Πρυτανείῳ public maintenance in the Prytaneum, Ar. Ra. 764, cf.
