Med., in weaving, carry on the web by passing the weft to and fro across the warp (the setting up of which is διάζεσθαι), Poll. 7.32, Hsch., Phot., Suid., prob. in Call. Fr. 244; hence, of a spider, τὴν ὁδὸν προφορεῖσθαι run to and fro, Call.Com. 2, cf. Ar. Av. 4; of dogs, π. παρὰ τὰ αὐτά X. Cyn. 6.15.
