Att. fut. -ιῶ Th. 6.54; (apparently from πήλαξ = πηλός, though neither πήλαξ nor the simple πηλακίζω certainly existed) : — bespatter with mud, or trample in the mire; only metaph, treat with contumely, τοὐμὸν στόμα S.
