ἡ, (< κύων, ἄγχω) dog-quinsy, Arist. HA 604a5, Ant.Lib. 23.2; cf. ὑάγχη ; hence, sore throat, Hp. VM 19, Prog. 23, Aph. 3.16 (all pl.), Porph. Abst. 3.7; συνάγχη is a constant v.l., but Gal. distinguishes κυνάγχη as an inflammation of the larynx, συνάγχη of the interior muscles of the throat, παρασυνάγχη of the exterior muscles, 8.248, 17 (2).706.
