ἡ, (< οἶνος) Oenoë, name of two Attic demes, of the φυλὴ Ἱπποθοωντίς, on the Boeot. frontier near Eleutherae, Hdt. 5.74, Th. 2.18, Str. 8.6.16 (Οἰνώνη codd.). of the φυλὴ Αἰαντίς, near Marathon ; Οἰνόη or Οἰναῖοι τὴν χαράδραν, prov. of self-inflicted ruin, Zen. 5.29, Hsch. ; loc. pl. Οἰνόησι IG1². 845.5. Adj. Οἰναῖος, belonging to one of these demes, ib. 22.99, 1623.5, 1926.130, etc. ; also Οἰνοαῖος SIG 541 A 3 (Delph., iii BC).
