S. 226), bei Homer nur einen gewohnten Aufenthaltsort von Tieren bezeichnet, einen Ort, nach welchem sie zu gehn pflegen, um dort zu weilen, <i>Il<\/i>. 6.511, 15.268, <i>Od<\/i>. 14.411 ; ἔθω wird bei Homer in der zweiten Stelle von Menschen gebraucht, <i>Il<\/i>. 16.260 σφήκεσσιν εἰνοδίοις, οὓς παῖδες ἐριδμαίνωσιν ἔθοντες, νηπίαχοι ; auch hier erklärte Aristarch ἔθοντες = ἐξ ἔθους συνεχῶς ἐπιφοιτῶντες, s. <i>Scholl. Aristonic<\/i>. vs. 261 u. vgl. Apoll. <i>Lex.Hom<\/i>. p. 63.16. – Zu ἔθω rechnet man das häufig vorkommende perfect εἴωθα."
